Prayers Needed......

Say a prayer for a Diana's mom...she is in the hospital and very ill. The power of prayer is an amazing thing and anything that can offer hope has to be a good thing!!

Swimming & New Golf Course

The boys had their school swim gala today and Andrew was one of the swimmers. Christopher could have participated as well but opted not to {no surprises there}. Anyway, Andrew had fun and did quite well. Each event had two heats of 8 swimmers and the top 4 from each swam in the finals. He participated in two relays {finished 2nd and 3rd}, free style {2nd} and backstroke {3rd}.

Across they way they have started construction on a huge project here in the village. It is for the new golf course that is being built. They are also building a 5* hotel as well as executive housing as part of the project. The hotel will be in an established building in another part of the village and the houses are elsewhere too, so we won't be looking at buildings but the golf course instead!!

Silhouettes...

This weeks assignment for the photography course is to take silhouette photos. OK, this is really hard! I know what a silhouette is but to actually use it on somthing other than a persons profile was a challenge. Not to mention there has been NO sun here for the past 4 days ~ just dark clouds and rain. Anyway, these are the best photos so far...I have 1 day to see if I can get better ones.

Rainbows Again??

Tonight we had another brief rain shower followed by rainbows and they were some of the most vibrant ones I have ever seen ~ we even had a double one again.
SO, I just HAD to take more photos and share them with you all......enjoy! All photos were taken while standing in our back yard looking across the valley.

In Season

Yep....Millie is in season/heat! I did not think it would happen to her so soon, she is only 9 months old. SO now we have to deal with things until it is over {about 3 weeks} plus she will go through this 2 times a year. Tim seems to have this WILD idea that we will possibly have a litter so that is why she is not spayed yet.
I was hoping to schedule it for later this month....oops, too late now. Once her 'season' is over we need to wait 3 months to have her spayed.
It will be an interesting few weeks around our house to say the least.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow...

We had a brief rain shower move through and it produced the most beautiful rainbow which then turned into a DOUBLE one!!

Here are a few photos....I may post more because well ~I just like rainbows :-}

Bank Holiday Monday

I don't really understand this May bank holiday thing here in the UK but Tim had the day off and the kids had no school. We went to Beamish outdoor museum and spent some time walking around the facility. Tim has wanted to go here for a couple of years so today was the day to go. It is a recreation of life in the North East of England around the late 1800's early 1900's and it is a working/living museum. The weather was cold (55 degrees) and party cloudy so it may have not been the best day to go.
Anyway, here are a few photos from our day out.... enjoy!

ps...if you are into history then this is the place to go. I think Tim was the most interested out of all of us. I'd rather be on a beach somewhere...or sitting on a raft in someones pool :-}

Self Portrait

I am taking a digital photography course and the first assignment was to take a portrait of ourselves. To make things worse we had to have our name in it so we didn't pick an old photo of ourself we liked {crap....I would have done that too!}

Here is the result.....almost 100 photos later. I am my own worst critic when it comes to photos of myself ~so I am sure I didn't need to take that many photos. This is one of the ones I liked best, still not sure about it but who cares.

edited to add: forgot to mention that my name is there on the right but I cropped the photo so it would fit here. Thank you to a certain someone {Diana} for asking where my name was LOL

Jinxed

Andrew is having the WORST luck as of late with his Xbox 360. First, the drive motor broke and it needed to be sent in for repairs. It was completed quickly so he was offline for about 5 days. Ok, so he wasnt happy but at least it was a short amount of time. NOW his favorite game, or at least the one he plays with Nicholas constantly on the weekend, has broken. Yep, it is broken!! Somehow, the cd is cracked and won't play. Since he has a US system it will only play games purchased in the US. SO, I bought one on Ebay ~ having it sent to a friend {thank you Diana} and she will send it on to me.

What we won't do for our two boys to communicate with each other :-)
